Support Legislation for Family Caregivers |
President Obama Signs Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act Wounded Warrior Project applauds President Obama for signing into law a measure that, for the first time, will ensure that families of veterans severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan receive comprehensive, coordinated financial and other support that will enable them to provide these warriors with needed home-care. Enactment of the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010 has been the highest legislative priority for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), which worked with Congress for more than a year to win its passage.
It has been a long journey but one worth the challenge to ensure our wounded warriors and their families have the financial, emotional, and medical assistance they need to care for those veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan who were so severely injured in the line of duty they require round-the-clock care. These are just some of the stories that have touched our hearts along the way.
