Host a School Fundraiser

Whether you have a graduation requirement or you want to instill community values in future generations, school fundraisers can be part of every school year! Magazine sales, cookie sales, and holiday wrapping paper sales are all great fundraisers.

  • Mr. Yusko’s history club at Spotwood High School in Spotwood, New Jersey, raised over $16,000, which provided 160 backpacks for wounded service members arriving in hospitals. The club not only asked the school’s students and faculty to donate, but they also took to the community to educate them about this generation of wounded warriors. Students set up tables with literature and give-away items for people who donated, and they showed a DVD at a school assembly. They got the school newspaper involved, which prompted their community newspaper to get involved, too, enlisting the local community.

It’s not always about the amount of money raised. Every fundraiser spreads the news about helping this generation of veterans. Be creative. The ideas are endless!

School fundraiser ideas include:

  • Regular dress week for schools with uniforms ($5/day for one week to dress in regular clothes, usually around Memorial or Veterans Day)
  • Bring your lunch for a week and donate your lunch money. The class that raises the most gets a pizza party.
  • School concert, talent show or battle of the bands
  • Lunch BBQ on school lawn
  • Sports games
  • Pass out literature and give-away item for military week
  • Sell class cookbook or calendar
