Angela Maschek

Angela Maschek is a dauntless young professional who is filled with energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and a drive for success. And if you don’t believe us, check out her resume; it says so right there.

“In my previous jobs, I have been known as ‘The Woman-To-Watch,’ ‘The Next Big Star,’ and ‘The Go-To Girl,” says Angela. “I was given those names because I believe every assignment is an opportunity, every problem has a solution, and every day is a chance to stretch myself.”

Lila Meadows

Lila Meadows

If you ever take a shower at Lila Meadows house – and, yes, you know who you are out there – make sure you close the shower curtain afterward.

“It causes mildew when you leave it open,” says Lila. “It’s a pet peeve of mine.”

She breaks into a smile after saying that. It’s a contagious laughter that her teammates at Wounded Warrior Project’s policy and government affairs team have come to know and love.

Flores Pedroza

Flores Pedroza doesn’t play favorites.

Ask him what his favorite sports team is and he’ll say, “I don’t have one.” Ask him what his pet peeves are and you’ll get a similar response, “None.”

But ask him what he’s really passionate about and Flores lights up.

Jack Shelar

It happened on a Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF) flight headed to Ramstein Air Force Base. A news journalist shifted from covering the critical care of wounded warriors and focused his story’s attention on a much more benevolent event:

Stephen Vargas

“I was looking for Little Caesar’s Pizza, and I went into the wrong building.”

According to Stephen Vargas, that was November 2010 and the beginning of his career at Wounded Warrior Project. It’s an appropriate response when you consider Stephen’s mother often claims he graduated from “Clown College.”

Justin Lightcap

Lightcap

Justin aka ‘Nighthawk’ is way cooler in real life than his self-proclaimed nickname! Born in Las Cruces, NM, Justin joined the United States Marine Corps after majoring in Political Science at Indiana University, Bloomington. He served four years in the Marine Corps Infantry as a fire team leader over the course of two deployments to Iraq before being honorably discharged in 2009.

Jonathan Pruden

Pruden

Jonathan Pruden wasn’t dubbed MacGyver for nothing! Everyone marveled at how adept he was at fixing, improving, and repurposing vehicles, weapons, shelters, etc. with nothing but acquired detritus.  But that’s just one among his many talents! Born in Columbia, SC and raised in Asheville, NC, Jonathan holds a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and a Masters in Political Science from University of Florida in Gainesville.

Dana Bunke

Bunke

Dana is not called ‘Danamite’ for nothing! At one point a red head and always a bundle of energy, Dana, who was born and raised in Michigan, joined the Air Force and served on Active Duty from 2000-2004, ending with a year in the Reserves. While stationed at Yokota Air Base in Japan, her first duty station, she deployed to Kyrgyzstan in 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Next, Dana deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona.

Morgan Lee Williams

Williams

Morgan, aka the ‘Queen Bee’ (because she BRINGS IT in the gym), brings in every ounce of her energy and expertise to make a mark at WWP. Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Morgan earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from FSU before going on to work with the Navy Reserves doing Psychological Outreach with returning Reservists.

Garrity

Lindsay aka ‘Bluetooth’ is so named, not because of her preference for high-end technical gadgets, but because she happened to eat a blue ring pop just before an important meeting and ended up with a bright blueberry blue mouth! Born in Palm Harbor, Florida and raised in Ponte Vedra Beach, Lindsay is a Florida girl who adds warmth and sunshine to each and every life she touches.
