physical health & wellness executive vice president
Richard Stieglitz brings a wealth of experience to the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) team in the area of physical health and wellness.
Richard's responsibilities at WWP include overseeing WWP's Physical Health & Wellness program, which aims to optimize the physical and psychological well being of warriors through comprehensive recreation and sports programs, physical health promotion strategies, physical rehabilitation, and legislative policy change.
Before joining WWP, Richard held the position of health policy advisor with Affiliated Computer Services, Inc.'s Federal government healthcare solutions group. He also served as chief executive officer and chief operating officer for Integrated Rehabilitation Services, LLC in Norwalk, Connecticut, which provides physical therapy and injury prevention, as well as an array of specialty programs and services.
Richard holds a master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports medicine and athletic training and a bachelor's degree in biology and physical therapy, both of which prepared him for a career in the area of physical health and rehabilitation. Richard's more than 20 years of management experience, 15 of which have been in the field of health and wellness, enable him to lead his team, which focuses on physical health, adaptive sports, nutrition, and health and wellness programming.
Richard lives in Haymarket, Virginia with his wife, Gail, their children, Nicole and Matthew, and their big dog, Bailey. He is also a professional freelance sports photographer, who has been published in Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine, national newspapers, and many professional sports and news websites. Richard is a big ice hockey fan and his hobbies include golf, photography, and bike riding.
