Wounded Veterans Track Down a Political Assassin in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Feb. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Living out a night of wild political intrigue, murder, and food, 48 Alumni from Wounded Warrior Project^® (WWP) recently enjoyed a night at Agatha's Murder Mystery in Atlanta. This event was hosted as part of the Alumni program, designed to bring wounded veterans together through shared experiences.

"The staff greeted us as we arrived, told us what we would be doing, and had us sit in groups at tables," said Martha Glover, Navy veteran and WWP Alumna. "Once we sat down, the murder mystery began."

Agatha's engages audience members through its unique, original, and hilarious murder mysteries. Their special brand of comedy is focused on making sure the audience participates and laughs consistently throughout the evening.

"I don't think we stopped laughing from the time it began," Martha said. "Everyone was just having a really good time. They had it set up so as a different course was brought out, a different act from the show would begin, so it was always moving and we were always eating."

Through the WWP Alumni program, wounded service members have a chance to deepen their bonds through camaraderie at welcoming events in relaxed environments. Many WWP Alumni face similar challenges and events like this offer them a chance to come together and connect with other wounded veterans and family support members.

As for who the murderer was? Martha says she's not going to give spoilers, just in case others want to try to crack the case.

"Without saying too much, the plot of the story was a presidential election theme," she said. "Someone was killing other candidates, and we had to try and figure out who it was. It was just like Clue!"

Martha reflected that she sometimes has a hard time being social with others that she doesn't know. However, at events like this, she's able to open up and connect with Alumni over their shared experiences and backgrounds.

"I knew three people there, but I sat with new people," Martha said. "I had a chance to meet more Alumni, which I always enjoy. It's good to hear their stories from the different branches of service. It's the camaraderie and togetherness that I always look forward to with these events. Each of us understands what the others have been through."
