Helping Warriors Improve Their Health

At Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), we take a holistic approach to wellness supporting both your body and mind. By building healthy habits, you can start feeling better, gain confidence, and enjoy life more. The Physical Health & Wellness program is here to guide you through common problems like sleep issues, pain, and stress, offering personalized support to help you reach your wellness goals now and in the future.

The program begins by creating a plan tailored just for you. Together, we’ll identify simple, manageable steps to improve your physical health, which in turn benefits your mental and emotional well-being. From there, we provide the tools, resources, and support you need, including in-person and virtual wellness events and series, personalized coaching, and a supportive online community.

Whether your goal is to have more energy, improve sleep, start a fitness routine, eat healthier, or manage a health condition, the Physical Health & Wellness program is here to support you every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Registered warriors and family members can participate in the Physical Health & Wellness (PH&W) program. Contact the WWP Resource Center by phone at 888.WWP.ALUM (997.2586) or 904.405.1213, or email to check eligibility and sign up.

The Physical Health & Wellness Coaching Program begins with a multi-day expo to kick off a warrior’s wellness journey. After the expo, warriors will work with a WWP coach to set tangible goals and participate in multiple coaching calls to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for success and accountability.

Through movement, nutritional education, coaching, goal-setting, and skill-building, warriors are empowered to make long-term changes toward a healthier life.

The Coaching Program was created to help participants improve their mobility, sleep, nutrition, and overall wellness. However, weight loss is a possible benefit of the program. Wounded Warrior Project’s veterans health and fitness program supports wellness initiatives, educates warriors on proper nutrition, and provides resources to allow them to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

If you are not currently registered with WWP please visit our registration page for details about who is eligible to register with WWP and how to get started. Our fitness programs for veterans offer a variety of opportunities that can be
accessed from anywhere. Warriors are also encouraged to check out our weekly e-newsletter, The Post, for PH&W activities in their area.

Yes! PH&W promotes family support members participating in activities alongside their warrior. There are some opportunities designed specifically for warrior-only engagement. Participants should be mindful of this when registering for events.

Most PH&W activities are accessible to all warriors. Warriors specifically interested in adaptive sports opportunities should request a program referral to the WWP Adaptive Sports team.
