Steven Simms

Board Director

Steven Simms has more than 20 years of senior executive experience at leading global corporations. He is the retired president and chief executive officer of Colfax Corporation, a global manufacturing and engineering company, where he also served as a board director. 

Prior to this, he served as chairman of the board of directors of Apex Tools and is a former executive vice president of Danaher Corporation, a Fortune 200 science and technology leader that designs, manufactures, and markets innovative products and services to professional, medical, industrial, and commercial customers. 

Simms spent 11 years at Danaher, from 1996 to 2007, during which time he was instrumental to its international growth and success. He previously served with Danaher as vice president – group executive from 1998 to 2000 and as an executive in its tools and components business from 1996 to 1998. Before joining Danaher, Simms held roles of increasing authority at Black & Decker Corporation, most notably president – European Operations and president – Worldwide Accessories. 

Simms started his career at the Quaker Oats Company, where he held several brand management roles. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Perdue Farms, is a member of the board of trustees for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is actively involved in several educational and charitable organizations in the Baltimore area. 

Simms earned a marketing and political science degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. He joined the Wounded Warrior Project® board of directors in 2026.
