Keeping the Promise — Our Commitment to Veterans, Service Members, and Their Families

Our promise to be there for warriors drives us to push the limits of what's possible in serving those who've served. In overcoming challenges, strengthening connections, finding purpose, and advancing solutions, we're committed to bringing every warrior home — mind, body and soul.

Our vision for what's possible reflects our commitment to:

Save a Million Lives

We work to ensure that warriors and family members receive the right support, at the right time, when they need it most. We have touched hundreds of thousands of lives since 2003. Our work is far from done. We're committed to reaching one million more.

Cure PTSD

Too many warriors live with the effects of trauma. We believe that PTSD is not a life sentence. We have evidence of symptom relief and remission today. Change is already happening. Our task is to expand, accelerate, and innovate access to effective care.

End Veteran Suicide

Thousands of veterans still die by suicide each year. We believe prevention starts long before a crisis occurs. We will help build preventative systems, whole life solutions, and suicide-safer communities where help arrives faster than hopelessness.

End Veteran Homelessness

Ending veteran homelessness requires more than housing alone. We will build coalitions to find every veteran at risk. We will address root causes before a crisis occurs. We will help veterans regain the stability that makes housing last.

Programs and Services

From building connections and job search assistance, to accelerated PTSD treatments and supporting caregivers, we help warriors overcome challenges and thrive.

Advocacy

We advocate for policies that improve the lives of veterans, service members, and their families and advance meaningful change on the issues that matter most.

Partnerships

Through funding, collaboration, and convenings, we partner with military and veteran organizations to address challenges that no single organization can solve alone.

Research

We are pioneering veteran care, from mental healthcare innovations and advanced therapies to leading original research that reshapes understanding of veteran health.

History

WWP began in 2003 as a grassroots effort to provide backpacks filled with care and comfort items at the hospital bedsides of wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than two decades later, we are still defined by our promise to be there for warriors and their families, no matter what. Since our founding, we have directly served more than 300,000 veterans, service members, and family members.

As the needs of those we serve have evolved, so has our impact. In 2015, we partnered with four leading academic medical centers to launch Warrior Care Network, providing accelerated brain health treatment and healing relief to those suffering from the disruptive effects of PTSD and other brain health challenges. We have continued to advance veteran policies and initiatives in Washington, DC that positively impact the lives of millions of veterans. And over the past 15 years, we have committed nearly $500 million in funding to 223 partner veteran organizations.

From our founding more than 20 years ago, through our vision for the decades to come, our extraordinary impact has been made entirely possible by the commitment of generous individual supporters, corporate partners and visionary funders. Together, we are keeping the promise to find every warrior, everywhere, and bring them home – mind, body, and soul.
