Engagement Executive Vice President
Jon currently serves as engagement executive vice president at Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). In this role, he manages teammates throughout the country who assist WWP Alumni, their families, and caregivers through a variety of outreach and engagement programs and services. Jon’s years of experience in warrior advocacy have enabled him to successfully create and implement programs to help wounded service members across the nation.
Prior to his current role, Jon served separately as WWP executive vice president of physical health & wellness (PH&W), economic empowerment, and development.
As the PH&W executive vice president, Jon oversaw the PH&W and Soldier Ride® programs. These programs provide nutrition, fitness, sporting, and exercise activities designed to help warriors adopt an active, healthy, and fit lifestyle. While serving as economic empowerment executive vice president, Jon managed the organization’s programming related to the education and workforce integration of wounded veterans.
As development executive vice president, Jon led the strategic partnerships, fundraising events, and giving outreach teams. He oversaw the rapid growth of these revenue channels and worked on numerous cause-marketing promotions that had a direct and positive impact on WWP programs.
Following graduation from The Citadel in 1997, Jon received a commission as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. During his time on active duty, Jon served onboard two Mayport-based ships, including the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). He has also taught at The Citadel.
Following active duty, Jon worked in the real estate industry and for a large university. He earned his Masters of Public Administration degree from the College of Charleston in 2008.
Jon notes, “Aside from my beautiful wife and two children, working for Wounded Warrior Project has been the biggest blessing of my life. It is an honor to work on behalf of this generation of wounded heroes.”
Jon is married to Sarah (Schultz), professor of law at Florida Coastal Law School. They have a son, Paul Daniel, and a daughter, Campbell Brea.
